EVENT: Roundtable Discussion – Creating An Ecosystem For Entrepreneurship

THE LEADERPRENEUR TALK SERIES
“Aspire to Inspire”

Women entrepreneurs play a vital role in the global economy. They create jobs, drive innovation and economic growth, and help to build strong communities. Women entrepreneurs are often the engine of local economies, and their businesses provide essential goods and services that families and businesses need.

Despite their importance, women entrepreneurs face significant challenges. They are often under-capitalized and have difficulty accessing the financing they need to grow their businesses. Many women entrepreneurs face the challenge of how to scale up their businesses in order to grow and compete with larger businesses.

Jill Finlayson will lead a roundtable discussion on creating an optimal ecosystem for entrepreneurship. She is the Director of the Expanding Diversity and Gender Equity in Tech (EDGE in Tech™) Initiative at University of California at Berkeley, where she supports research initiatives to promote equitable participation of women and other under-included identities in tech. Prior to Berkeley, she led mentorship and startup programs for Singularity University Ventures, the Toys category at eBay, an online community for Skoll Foundation, marketing at startups, and the World Bank’s Striking Poverty. She speaks on inclusive, impact-oriented innovation, equitable workplaces, and effective leadership. She has mentored global TechWomen, startup founders, and student innovators. Finlayson is a graduate of UC Berkeley. She, hers.
